Undescended Testes

About Undescended Testes

Undescended testes (cryptorchidism) is a condition where one or both testicles fail to move down into the scrotum before birth. While they sometimes descend on their own during the first few months of life, those that do not require surgical intervention. Timely treatment is crucial, as the warmer environment inside the body can affect future fertility and increase the risk of testicular issues later in life.

The surgical procedure, known as an orchiopexy, involves gently moving the testicle into the scrotum and securing it in place. This is typically recommended between 6 and 18 months of age. We perform this procedure with the utmost care, usually on an outpatient basis. Our goal is to protect your child's long-term reproductive health while ensuring a smooth, minimally stressful surgical experience.
